Two important recent trade shows, Analytica in Munich, Germany and HPLC in Baltimore, USA, are just behind us. For us, both of these exhibitions were particularly exciting events in that they marked for KNAUER our expansion into
the premium HPLC market. 

At these trade shows, we launched PLATINblue, our new product line for UHPLC (ultra high-performance liquid chromatography) for analysis of complex mixtures and for extremely fast separations.

Naturally, the focus of this issue of the e-report will be on UHPLC and PLATINblue. The latest developments to our Smartline product line, which is of course still available, as well as our other products, will be presented in future
editions of the e-report.

Our goal when developing PLATINblue was not just to produce a system which meets all of the requirements of UHPLC such as a pump which can operate at 1000 bar, with fast detection and low system dispersion, but also can be used for both UHPLC and standard HPLC applications.
