In this first edition of the KNAUER e-report we will present an array of interesting applications and new products, as well as valuable information about our upcoming exhibitions and events at KNAUER.

Our first application focuses on the analysis of vitamins - a fast separation of water soluble vitamins made possible by use of a specially modified C18 column and the versatile Smartline HPLC system. The second application note describes how GPC sample cleanup can be easily automated for analysis of pesticide residues in olive oil by using the KNAUER GPC Cleanup Unit 6500.

Increasing laboratory efficiency is the focus of the three newest additions to the KNAUER product line.

• Our new patent-pending SmartMix is a compact, high-performance static mixer for HPLC, offering the mixing efficiency of a dynamic mixer but with a significantly lower mixing volume.
• The new Smartline Pump 100 offers many of the features of a "grown-up" HPLC pump in an extremely compact design. Whether controlled by PC or its own keypad interface, the Pump 100 can be used for high pressure solvent delivery at flow rates ranging from a few microliters up to 50 ml/min.
• Last but not least, we present the new Smartline Column Oven 4050. Equipped with Peltier cooling and heating of the column compartment from 5 to 140 °C, the Oven 4050 will enable you to work more flexibly and dynamically.
